NATURE OF INCIDENT: Suspicious

DETAILS: Arrested: Michael R. McCandless 37 Y/O VincennesIndiana

Charge: Neglect of a dependent- D Felony

On the above date and time, officers with the Vincennes Police Department were dispatched to the area of 13/ Wabash for a report of a female juvenile standing in the road alone. Upon officers arrival it was determined that the juvenile’s father had left a nearby residence leaving the 8 Y/O juvenile unattended outside. The father returned about 40 minutes later while officers were on scene. Upon completion of the investigation by VPD officers and Indiana DCS, the above male was placed under arrest for the above charge.

ARRESTED: Mark D Spore age 60 from Edwardsport

DETAILS: Officers stopped Mr. Spore for a traffic Violation at 11th & Sycamore. He was found to be intoxicated. He was transported to GoodSamaritanHospital and then taken to the Knox Co jail where he was booked in for DUI “D “Felony with a previous conviction.

DETAILS: Arrested: John V. Creamer Sr, 68YOA, Vincennes

Charge: Operating While Intoxicated, A Misdemeanor

At about 6:30pm, Vincennes Police were alerted to a possibly intoxicated driver that struck a utility pole at 7th & Vigo, then drove from the area. The suspect, John Creamer, was located at 6th & College; the investigation revealed that Creamer operated a vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested and booked into the Knox County Jail.

ARRESTED: Misty D Knight age 21 from Vincennes

DETAILS: Ms Knight was located at 219 S 4th and was found to have a warrant out of Knox Co for FTA. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Knox Co jail and booked in for the Warrant

ARRESTED: Tammy L Greenwood age 56 from Vincennes

DETAILS: Ms Greenwoood was stopped on a traffic violation in the 600 block of Scott. She was in possession of Methamphetamine and was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Knox Co jail and lodged on the above charge.

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Wanted Person

DETAILS: Officer Hensley was assisting Lawrence Barret, 50, Evansville, while Mr. Barrett was seeking transportation to Indianapolis. A check of Mr. Barrett’s information reveled that Mr. Barrett had an active parole violation through the parole board of Indianapolis. Mr. Barrett was taken into custody and transported to the KnoxCountyLawEnforcementCenter without incident.

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Trespass

DETAILS: While at Maple Park apartments Officer Kern was requested to serve a trespass order on Christopher W. Banks, 28 years of age, Vincennes. Officer Kern made contact with Banks and escorted him to the property manager’s office. Mr. Banks became loud and disorderly while in the office and was warned for disorderly conduct. Mr. Banks again became loud and disorderly as he left the property and fled the scene on a moped. Officer Kern pursued Banks and conducted a stop on Mr. Banks in the area of South 16th Street. Mr. Banks was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, and was also issued a citation for disregarding a stop sign.

On the above date and time, Vincennes Police Officers located wanted person, 22 year old, Stephanie Lynn Smith of Vincennes, IN at an apartment in the 2000 Block of College Ave. Vincennes, IN. Smith was arrested for a Knox County Superior II Court Warrant for Failure to Appear on an original charge of Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, a class B misdemeanor. Smith is being held in the Knox County Jail without bond pending court appearance.

On the above date and time, Vincennes Police Officers located Frederick James Wells, 51, of Vincennes, IN at an apartment in the 900 Block of N. 6th St. Wells was arrested for two outstanding Knox County Superior I Court warrants for Failure to Appear on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, class C felony, Possession of Marijuana- Prior Conviction, class D felony, and Possession of Paraphernalia, class A misdemeanor. Wells is being held in the Knox County Jail without bond pending court appearance.
