NATURE OF INCIDENT: Traffic Offense

DETAILS: Officers of the Vincennes Police Department conducted a traffic stop at 11th and St. Clair on a brown 2002 Pontiac passenger car. The driver of the vehicle, Megan A Burnette, 34, Vincennes, was found to be suspended prior. Ms. Burnette was arrested for the charge and transported to the KCLEC.

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Citizens Dispute

DETAILS: Officers of the Vincennes Police Department responded to a citizen dispute compliant at the Econo Lodge, 600 Old Wheatland Road. Upon arriving Officers observed a male and female involved in a verbal altercation. The female, Angela June Shoulders, 39, homeless, was found to be intoxicated while walking down the middle of Old Wheatland Road. Ms. Shoulders was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

DETAILS: Officers of the Vincennes Police Department were requested to attempt to locate a male in Vincennes that had an outstanding Pike County Indiana warrant. Donald Leroy Buzzard III, 27, Vincennes, was located at his residence and taken into custody on the PikeCounty warrant for two counts of child solicitation.

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Operating While Intoxicated

DETAILS:

On the above date and time, a Vincennes Police Officer executed a vehicle stop at N. 10th St. and Seminary St. on a maroon Pontiac passenger vehicle and, after an investigation, discovered the driver, 49 year old David L. Lory Jr. of Vincennes, IN, was intoxicated. Lory was arrested for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated- Refusal of Chemical Test, a class A misdemeanor. Lory is being held in the Knox County Jail on $5000 bond.

On the above date and time, a Vincennes Police Officer arrested 23 year old Courtney Lynn Eakins at a residence in the 600 Block of Shelby St. Vincennes, IN. Eakins was arrested for a Knox County Superior II Court Warrant for Failure to Appear on charges of Criminal Conversion, a class A misdemeanor. Eakins is being held in the Knox County Jail without bond pending court appearance.

On the above date and time, a Vincennes Police Officer arrested 31 year old Candace Renee Taylor of Vincennes, IN for a Knox County Superior I Court Warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Neglect of a Dependant Child, all Level 6 felonies. Taylor is being held in the Knox County Jail on $5000 bond.

Operator Never Licensed, C Misdemeanor

Reckless Driving, B Misdemeanor

Vincennes Police observed a vehicle driven by Smith in the 1600 block of Hart Street before attempting to stop him near 15 ½ & Hart. Smith briefly tried to evade the police in the vehicle before stopping and running a few blocks on foot. He was apprehended in the area of Belle Avenue and arrested on the above charges.

DETAILS: Arrested: Jonas R Letts, 36YOA, Vincennes

Charges: Theft, Level 6 Felony

Trespass, Class B Misdemeanor

Jonas R Letts was arrested for theft and criminal trespass at WalmartSupercenter after an investigation revealed he attempted to shoplift items on 07/30, and had also been barred from Walmart after a similar incident in 2011. He was booked into the Knox County Jail on the above charges.

DETAILS:

Arrested: Michael J. Phegley W/M/20

Charges: Residential Entry- 6 Felony

Minor Consumption (.084)- C Misdemeanor

VPD Officers investigated a report of a male subject attempting to gain entry into an Apartment at Autumn Ridge. The victim and witness advised the suspect was a Michael Phegley. A search was conducted for the suspect, and at first Phegley was not located. Later it was reported of suspicious activity in a nearby apartment. Officers were able to gain entry in to this apartment, and there Phegley was located. He was transported to the Knox county Jail. Phegley was lodged for the above listed charges, bond and court date are pending.

NATURE OF INCIDENT: Theft

DETAILS: Officers of the Vincennes Police Department responded to 2320 Hart Street in reference to a theft complaint. Officers were advised that a male subject had stolen a guitar from the complainant. With a physical description of the suspect Officers located Joel Hilt, 29, Sarepta LA. Mr. Hilt was not in possession of the guitar at the time of the stop, however, Mr. Hilt led officers to where he had placed the guitar. Mr. Hilt was arrested for theft as well as public intoxication.
