Hope’s Voice and Vincennes Beauty College team up to take a stand against Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence

Hope’s Voice, operating under Children and Family Services, and in collaboration with the Vincennes Beauty College will be providing training to beauticians using the Cut It Out program which is connected to the Professional Beauty Association. Cut It Out builds awareness of domestic abuse by training salon professionals to recognize the warning signs of abuse and safely and confidentially refer those clients to the local resource for help. Locally the program is Hope’s Voice. This training will be on February 13th, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Vincennes Beauty College training room. One in 3 women and 1 in 7 men experience domestic violence in their lifetime. For some, salons are a safe place where they sit among others and confide in each other. This partnership is a great opportunity for patrons to receive information about resources that are available.

Hope’s Voice provides services to those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include but not limited to a 24-hour Crisis Line (812-899-HOPE (4673), support/advocacy, information, referrals, safety planning, legal advocacy, referral for temporary food and housing services.
